I still have the nicest followers in the world, gosh guys! I’m gonna hug all of you!

It’s ok, narrativepriorities— I have a lot of feelings about non-benders as well. So many feelings.

I’m starting to wonder what Bryke wants us to think about Equalist ideology myself. They have great points, but we haven’t seen anyone who both sees problems with society and isn’t coded as totally evil. I thought Hiroshi would fill that void, but he kind of sort of turned into Lex Luthor. It’s worrying. The Fire Nation royalty had more despicable motives, but they were better fleshed out and more understandable. Now, seven episodes into a twelve episode story arc, the Lieutenant has said three lines, and Amon… I’d like to see him doing something unrelated to his plans at least once, just to remind us that he’s human.

But! We’ll probably get lots of development for Amon and company in the coming episodes. If Bryke wanted unsympathetic, amoral villains, they would have made the Triads the main villains. Maybe an Amon POV episode? (Well, I can dream, right?)

In short, don’t lose hope! It looks bad for the Equalists now, but cling to me if you have to— I see a rescue ship on the horizon!
