Noatokk, huh? Or Noatok?

I like that name.

His backstory is really interesting, but I wish we saw more of his evolution— why he created the Equalist movement and all. I still feel his philosophy should have been fleshed out more, and a flashback from his perspective would have really helped. Was he being a hypocrite in his fight with Korra? How much did he hate bending? Was it a “nobody should have it except me because it’s way too dangerous” thing?

And that death scene was amazing.

Still, I can’t recognize the Amon I got attached to in Noatokk. The bloodbending and outburst at the end contradict the suicidal, passionate devotion to anti-bending I placed at the heart of his character. (This is why you shouldn’t make huge headcanons about mysterious villains! It only brings you pain!)

It’s going to take a while for me to find the heart of Noatokk. And while I had always planned to keep playing Amon even after he died, I just don’t get him right now, and because the Amon I played was always something of an OC, I’m probably never going to understand him the same way again.

Or, less pretentiously: He’s kinda soured on me.

Taking all of these factors into account, I plan to answer a couple more questions, then leave this blog to die. Thank you for your support this season, but this is the end.

HAHA YEAH RIGHT I’M HAVING TOO MUCH FUN This blog will haunt the fandom forever

How’s that Lieutenant, huh? He’s ok, right? Nope, he definitely didn’t die or have his organs crushed, and if he was in jail he could totally bust out.

And while he disowned Amon, he didn’t disown Equality, and the movement still has legs. Nobody solved the social and political inequalities non-benders suffer— heck, nobody even addressed it.

And while Amon/Noatokk will keep popping up in the future, the Lieutenant will be taking over. The URL says Equalist, not Amon, after all!

I should note, this blog topped 2,500 followers this week! Wow! Thank you for sticking with this Amon for so long! I expect that number to go down, and I’m totally cool with that, there’s no shame in unfollowing.

For those of you who choose to stick around, welcome! Next Saturday the blog gets a makeover and the askbox will be open indefinitely.

This blog will become less active, since there’s less material coming out and I start a summer class soon, but it’s not going to die any time soon. I do not know when to stop, and neither do the Equalists!
